Introduced 1958. Built by S.A.N. at Bernay, also later homebuilts.

Five-seater with 180hp Lycoming O-360 engine.

140 Prototype with triangular fin (also used generically for amateur-builts)
140A Initial production with improved ventilation
140B Minor update to brakes & cowling
140C Enlarged swept fin
140E Further enlarged fin, all-flying elevator
140R Glider-tug with cut-down rear fuselage & rear glazing.

Model shows that which is currently registered. There have been several retrospective modifications.
Also some standard-model aircraft have been fitted with towing hooks without change of designation.
